Team Titusville Participates in St. Baldrick's

Hair was flying in Viera at The Avenues on Saturday, March 16.  Participants and families from throughout the Space Coast attended the "Go Bald or Go Home" St. Baldrick's fundraising event.  This is an annual national event to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research.

As they have in the past, Titusville Fire and Emergency Services Department employees banded together to form Team Titusville, soliciting donations, selling T-shirts and holding drawings for donated items and gift certificates from Dixie Crossroads.  The drawings generated $976 and the combined total Team Titusville contributions to St. Baldrick's Foundation was $5,378

"We'd like to thank all of our citizens who monetarily supported the head shaving of our personnel and give a special thanks to Dixie Crossroads and Costa Del Mar for the items they donated for our drawings.  The winners of the drawings have been notified; two of the winners were City of Titusville employees.  We've still got a few T-shirts left for sale at $10 and all money from the sales will be added to the fund total donated to St. Baldrick's!", said EMS/Training Chief Greg Sutton, department coordinator for the event.  He can be reached at 383-5708 or gregory.sutton@titusville.com.
