Thanksgiving Week: Thursday’s pickup for garbage, recycling and yard trash will be on Wednesday. There will be no other changes for the week.

CAUTION: The City of Titusville has received several complaints from citizens in reference to receiving fraudulent telephone calls from subjects claiming to be with the utility department. If you receive a telephone call of this nature and are unsure about the origin of the call, please immediately hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency for further assistance.

Fire Department Helps Train Titusville High School Life Guards

Members of Titusville High School's Lifeguard Training Class, under the direction of Coach Lori Sprayberry, joined Titusville Fire and Emergency Services members on the shores of the Indian River March 14 for water rescue training.

Lead Instructor, Driver-Operator/Paramedic Phil Chase, and crew members Driver/Paramedic Tiffany Ford and Firefighter/Paramedic Jeremy House provided instruction in different types of patient rescue in the water, how to properly backboard patients for transport and how to handle combative and non-responsive patients.  The students also received refresher skill training in injury and wound care and CPR.
