Celebrate National Bike Safety Month - Free Bike Rodeo

May is National Bike Safety Month.  To celebrate and raise awareness for bicycle safety, Titusville Fire and Emergency Services is partnering with the Wal-Mart Super Center located at 3175 Cheney Hwy. to present a Bike Rodeo this weekend:

Saturday May 14, 2011 10am-2pm.
Sunday   May 15, 2011 10am-2pm.
A bicycle and helmet inspection station will be set up on site and participants will also be able to show off their bicycle safety skills on an obstacle course set up near the Garden Center.  To participate in the obstacle course, bring your bicycle and bike helmet.
Wal-Mart Super Center is also supporting the Bikes for Tykes Program by offering $10.00 towards the purchase of a new bike with the trade-in of your old one.   All bikes traded in will be donated to the Bikes for Tykes Program.
Our roadways are not the only place where safe practices are needed.  After finishing the rodeo course, visit the water safety demonstration to find out about techniques and equipment designed to prevent drowning.
