CHANGE YOUR CLOCK, CHANGE THE BATTERY IN YOUR SMOKE DETECTOR!
Daylight Savings time will end at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 6th. Titusville Fire and Emergency Services supports the continuing partnership of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and Energizer, Inc. in reminding everyone to take the opportunity while you're changing your clocks to also change the batteries in your smoke detectors and make sure the detectors are functioning properly. Test your smoke detector monthly and change the batteries when you change your clock.
National Fire Protection Association statistics reveal that one in five fire deaths happen in homes with smoke alarm failures due to dead batteries. Working smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in reported home fires in half. Don't become a statistic!
If Titusville citizens need smoke detectors but cannot afford them, Titusville Fire and Emergency Services Department will provide and install smoke detectors FREE of charge. If any of our citizens need assistance in changing batteries, checking their detectors or installing new ones, call our Headquarters office--Titusville firefighters are available to help.
For more information or to set up an appointment for a detector check or installation, please contact Titusville Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters office at 321-383-5708.
