Tuesday, August 24, 2010 is the Primary Election Day here in the state of Florida. In the Primary Election voters in the City of Titusville will select their nominees in their respective parties in the race for Governor, United States Senator, and Congressional Representative. The 2010 Primary Election also provides Titusville voters the opportunity to select representatives in Non-Partisan and/or Universal races for School Board, Florida House of Representatives, Canaveral Port Authority, Clerk of the Court, and several Circuit Court Judge Seats. To view the sample ballot for your registered party affiliation we urge you to visit the Brevard County Supervisor of Elections website at http://votebrevard.com and click on the link to the 2010 Primary Election Sample Ballot.
It is also important to note the 2010 Primary Election will also include an opportunity for the voters of Titusville to select a candidate for City Council Seats #1 and #3. The election for these candidates on the August 24th ballot is the result of more than two candidates qualifying for each seat. If no candidate receives a majority of the votes cast (50 percent plus one) in the Primary Election, then the top two candidates receiving the majority of the votes cast will be on the November General Election (Nov. 2nd) ballot.
If you choose to vote on August 24th voting hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Voters may also choose to take advantage of Early Voting for the Primary Election. Early voting begins 15 days before the elections (Monday, August 9, 2010) and lasts until August 21st.
