The City of Titusville, Florida / Police / NewsTitusville Police announce new Online Crime ReportingTuesday, June 22, 2010
Our department is proud to announce it will be providing a new online crime reporting option for our community. This web based reporting system will allow the public to file certain incident types over the internet at their convenience. The incidents available for online reporting include:
Identity Theft, Theft of Property, Vehicle Burglary, Vandalism, Harassing Phone Calls, and minor hit & run crashes.
Only those crimes not needing an officer response will be eligible for online reporting. “In no way would we allow our level of service to be diminished by this new resource” said Chief Tony Bollinger. “In fact, our crime prevention efforts will improve because of the increased time our officers have on the street to be proactive and target criminal activity”, Bollinger added.
This new service will allow our citizens to file a report at a time that is best for them without having to wait for an officer to respond or call them back. A computer kiosk has also been installed in the police department lobby, 1100 John Glenn Boulevard, for use by the public
How it works- Log onto www.titusvillepolice.us follow link to “Online Reporting”.
Once the user meets the online reporting criteria as explained online, they simply fill in the required information. The user will then be able to print a temporary copy of the report. The report will be reviewed by an officer and once approved the filing person will receive an email with a copy of the report attached –at no cost. The report will transfer into records and receive the same investigation and statistical analysis as a report filed by an officer.
Our department is using the Desk Officer Online Reporting System from San Ramon, California based software company Coplogic, Inc. www.Coplogic.com
