MARTIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
ROBERT L. CROWDER, SHERIFF

ARRESTS MADE/HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

May 14, 2010—Martin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Detectives have arrested cousins Alejandro Orduna and Luis Orduna-Para in connection with a homicide investigation that began on May 13, 2010.  Orduna-Para is charged with accessory after the fact and Orduna is charged with first degree murder.  Both defendants are being held at the Martin County Jail with no bond.

On May 13, 2010, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Titusville Police Department regarding the location of a deceased body.  Deputies responded to the 2800 block of SE Bridge Road where the body of Mims resident Ezekiel Kelly, Jr. was located.  The information that was received was from Orduna-Para who stated to Detectives that at approximately 4:00 a.m. on the 13th, Kelly, Orduna, and Orduna-Para left Titusville traveling in a 2005 Dodge Ram truck South on Interstate 95 towards Miami to purchase narcotics.  Orduna-Para further stated that when they were at the 110 mile marker in Martin County Orduna retrieved a black 9mm handgun from under his leg and shot Kelly.  They then traveled to the location on Bridge Road where they removed the body from the truck before returning to Titusville.

Orduna-Para stated to Detectives that after returning to Titusville they attempted to clean the bloody interior of the vehicle and told Kelly’s family members that Kelly had been robbed in Miami and left behind.  Orduna-Para stated he was scared of Kelly’s family and decided to call 911.  The vehicle and weapon were recovered by the Titusville Police Department.  This is a continuing investigation.
