SPLASH PAD REPAIR UPDATE: Public Works expects to reopen the Splash Pad by mid-day on Monday, June 25, provided there are no unforeseen circumstances. Workers are wrapping up repairs, and time is needed to back-fill the dig site and have the pool maintenance vendor fill the tanks and test the water. Thank you for your patience.

911 Communication Operators Recognized during NTW Week
Thursday, April 15, 2010

Each year, as recognized by Congress, the second full week of April is dedicated to the men and women who serve as public safety dispatchers- "National Public Safety Telecommunication Week."

Known as the first line of public safety, 911 and Communication Operators in Titusville have the thankless task of sorting through thousands of calls each month and relaying citizens’ emergencies to Police Officers and Fire & Emergency Services personnel in the field.  “It takes a special kind of person to do this job,” Titusville Police Chief Tony Bollinger said. Each Division within the police department was challenged by Chief Bollinger to come up with their own unique way of showing our communications personnel how much they are appreciated. Dispatchers have been getting treated to kind gestures and gifts all week from members of both the Titusville Police and Fire & Emergency Services.

We encourage our community to show their appreciation as well! For more information, check our website Communications page:  Page.asp?NavID=154
