Detectives Arrest Two in Prescription Fraud Scam
Friday, April 09, 2010

Titusville Police Detectives and the SWAT Team served a search warrant on a home located at 70 Lakeview Terrace shortly after 10AM on Friday April 9, 2010, two arrests were made.

After receiving a tip from a citizen, Vice Detectives began an investigation back in November of 2009. The results of this investigation revealed that multiple fraudulent MRI reports were being manufactured on a computer and suspects were going to medical clinics and obtaining painkiller prescriptions including Oxycodone and Xanax. These pills were then sold illegally in the Titusville area for profit..

Prescription drug abuse is becoming a significant problem in communities throughout the country. Titusville Police continue to appreciate the many tips we receive about prescription abuse from not only residents, but Pharmacists and Doctors as well.

Anyone with information on any crime can always remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward by calling CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS.

ARRESTED: Amy J. Stroud, 45; and Dwayne Wilson, 40, both of  70 Lakeview Terrace, Titusville.

Both suspects charged with: Conspiracy to Forge Medical Document, FSS 831.21; and Conspiracy to Acquire Controlled Substance FSS 893.13
