Thanksgiving Week: Thursday’s pickup for garbage, recycling and yard trash will be on Wednesday. There will be no other changes for the week.

CAUTION: The City of Titusville has received several complaints from citizens in reference to receiving fraudulent telephone calls from subjects claiming to be with the utility department. If you receive a telephone call of this nature and are unsure about the origin of the call, please immediately hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency for further assistance.

Local Adult, Juvenile Arrested Overnight for Prowling.

At approximately 9:00 p.m. Monday night (4/5/2010), an alert citizen called police after spotting two males putting a ladder up against the rear of the old Kmart building, 810 Cheney Hwy. When officers Nic Van Cott and Jeff Hector arrived, they located both suspects on the roof. The juvenile had a box cutter and flashlight on him.


The building is currently vacant. Titusville has experienced similar incidents in which burglars gained entry to a building through the roof, or suspects stole copper from air conditioners mounted on the roof.


ARRESTED: Alexander P. Heide, 19 of 4340 Garden St. Titusville.


ARRESTED: (Juvenile), 17, of Navajo Lane Titusville.


Both suspects charged with: PROWLING F.S.S. 856.021 -a 2nd degree Misdemeanor.
