Community Block Party April 3, 2010

The City of Titusville and the North Brevard NAACP is hosting a community block party on April 3, 2010 at 1pm on Queen Street between Deleon and Elizabeth Avenues.

The event, entitled “Still I Rise: A Celebration of the Rebirth of Deleon Avenue,” will commemorate the start of the revitalization activities in the City’s South Street Target Area with the demolition of a large abandoned multi-family structure.

The demolition and redevelopment of this property is made possible by the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program funded through the Department of Community Affairs and U.S. Housing and Urban Development.

The event will provide hotdogs and drinks, an Easter egg hunt and kids activities, and will include the start of the demolition process of the building!   Come by and discuss the future of the area with your local elected officials and community leaders.
