Molestation Suspect Arrested

On December 20, 2009, the Titusville Police Department received a report of the Lewd or Lascivious Molestation of a 10 year old girl at Wal-Mart. The suspect, identified as Roger A Fincher, spent approximately 30 minutes in the store before approaching and inappropriately touching the victim.  The suspect appeared to have been roaming the store looking for a victim prior to the act. He then exited the store and got into a semi truck parked on the automotive side of the store and left the area.

 

On January 6, 2010, the Ft Pierce Police Department received a report of a Lewd or Lascivious Molestation of an 11 year old girl at a Wal-Mart in Ft. Pierce. This incident is nearly identical to that in Titusville, FL.

 

Detectives from Titusville Police Department and the Ft Pierce Police Department worked together to identify the suspect, Roger A Fincher. Fincher is a registered sex offender from Leichester, North Carolina. He has four prior convictions in North Carolina for sex crimes against children under similar circumstances. A warrant has been issued for Fincher’s arrest in Brevard County on charges of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation and Aggravated Stalking. Ft. Pierce Police Department also obtained a warrant for Fincher’s arrest.

 

In the early morning hours of January 10, 2010, Fincher was tracked back to Ft. Pierce as he was attempting to make a scheduled delivery. The Ft. Pierce Police Department observed Fincher’s tractor trailer and subsequently arrested him. Fincher was interviewed by Detectives from both the Titusville Police Department and the Ft Pierce Police Department, and made admissions to both crimes. After interview, Fincher was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail.
