Titusville Fire Department Swears in New Firefighters

On Thursday, December 17, five new firefighters with the Titusville Fire and Emergency Services Department took their oath of office.  "The Fire Service has many traditions, one of which is the pinning ceremony", explained Titusville Fire Chief Chuck Bogle.  "Fire Department employees representing government bear the heavy responsibility of maintaining, by their own conduct, the honor and integrity of the City of Titusville."

Before an audience comprised of family, friends, and co-workers, Firefighters Ben Lees, Naudere Ghajar-Dowlatshahi, Jesse Benton, William Woznicki, and Zachery Boone acknowledged that their badge was a symbol of the public's fath and trust in them and swore and affirmed they would 'pledge to faithfully perform the duties of Firefighter and remain true to the ethics of the Fire Service'.  A parent or spouse, designated by the firefighter, was then honored by pinning on the badge of office, denoting the firefighter's entry into the Titusville Fire and Emergency Services firefighting "family".
