Titusville Police Doubling Patrols for Halloween Night
Friday, October 30, 2009

Zero tolerance for speeding drivers and registered sex offenders

The Titusville Police Department is doubling the amount of officers on patrol for Halloween Night, October 31st. In addition, we will have three cars manned with 6 volunteers from our Community Watch Unit who will provide extra visibility and an extra set of eyes and ears out there to report any issues to patrol officers.

Our officers will be concentrating on neighborhoods and subdivisions where the highest number of kids “Trick or Treating” will be. In addition, our officers will also be checking the homes of registered sex offenders in the community to make sure they are not having any contact with children and they are not violating any of the conditions of their release. “We are committed to making this a safe holiday for our kids”, said Chief Anthony C. Bollinger. “We plan to be as visible as possible in all neighborhoods of the City”, Bollinger added.

There will be zero tolerance for speeding violations during the early evening hours from 5PM until 9PM; all violators will receive a citation.

Our officers encourage everyone out “trick or treating” to stay on the sidewalks when possible and use flashlights to keep groups lit up when crossing the street.
