Description: 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs responsible work of a specialized nature involving the scheduling, coordination and processing of all training activities for sworn police personnel; the maintenance of all training records; researches and prepares reports; monitoring of  departmental training funds and other duties relating to the Training Section. This is a civilian position which will be expected to complete many of the tasks identified below.  Work is performed under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Professional Standards and Training and performance is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through conferences, evaluation of reports submitted and results obtained.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s Degree in Social Science, Public Administration, Accounting, Records Management or related area plus two (2) to (3) years experience in personnel or training field with responsibility for research and preparation of reports, maintenance of complex manual and automated record keeping systems, participating in the coordination and scheduling of training programs, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Knowledge of police operations highly desired. Instructor Techniques or prior experience in classroom presentation is preferred.

 

PHYSICAL/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of a valid Florida Operator’s Driver’s License without restrictions other than corrective lenses. Must reside within fifty – mile radius of the City of Titusville. Must successfully complete appropriate background investigation.  Requires ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, dragging, sitting, walking, sorting, computer use, and standing for 45 minutes at a time.

 

DURING OCCASIONS OF LOCAL EMERGENCIES THIS POSITION MAY BE REQUIRED TO REPORT TO PERFORM EMERGENCY TASKS, WHICH MAY RESULT IN EXTENDED WORK HOURS AS WELL AS EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME AWAY FROM FAMILY MEMBERS.
