CAUTION: The City of Titusville has received several complaints from citizens in reference to receiving fraudulent telephone calls from subjects claiming to be with the utility department. If you receive a telephone call of this nature and are unsure about the origin of the call, please immediately hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency for further assistance.

Man Apprehended After Vandalizing Patrol Car

A Titusville man was arrested shortly after vandalizing a marked Police Car. Just after 9pm on Friday, September 25th, Titusville Police Sergeant Josh Little was parked in front of the River Lanes Bowling Alley at 800 Cheney Hwy and was inside conducting a property check. Witnesses observed a man use a pocket knife to scratch the side of the marked, 2006 Chevrolet Impala. The witnesses informed Sgt. Little, who then spotted the suspect fleeing on a bicycle. Sgt. Little apprehended him on Cheney Hwy just north of the Bowling Alley.

 

The pocket knife was recovered on the ground nearby. The police car suffered approximately $100.00 damage. The suspect declined to discuss the reason for his activity.

 

The suspect is on probation for a number of charges including grand theft and forgery.  

 

ARRESTED: MICHAEL EDWARD LYNCH, 23, of 1900 KNOX MCRAE DR, Titusville, Florida.

 

CHARGES: Criminal Mischief and Violation of Probation.

 

Booked into Brevard County Jail.
