Strong Community Turnout for National Night Out
Tuesday, August 04, 2009

There was a strong, encouraging response to our National Night Out event at Target Plaza on August 4th. Members of our community came out to enjoy the crime prevention displays and events for kids from 6Pm until 9PM. Target, a National Sponsor for the program, donated space at the store and gave complimentary snacks to attendees.

National Night Out is held around the country every August to promote crime awareness and prevention methods. It's designed to promote neighborhood spirit and get people involved in all aspects of crime prevention, including drug-awareness.

Titusville Police participated with a K9 Demo, Fingerprint ID Kits for Kids -put on by the Police Explorers, a vehicle display, and the Community Watch Unit.

Titusville will continue to particiapte each year using a variety of different venues which include neighborhood cookouts, downtown street party, and involving businesses.
