Traffic Car Purchased with FDOT Grant
Thursday, August 20, 2009

A new car was added to our fleet of traffic enforcement vehicles at no cost to our City.

Our Department was awarded a fully-equipped 2009 Chevrolet Impala -with all the necessary police equipment- by the State of Florida's Department of Transportation Highway Safety Grant Program.

Although unmarked, the car is fully-equipped the same as a regular marked car. The stealth appearance is designed to target aggressive drivers and aid in other traffic enforcement efforts.

The Titusville Police Department also uses several "Slick-Top" cars for traffic enforcement initiatives. Slick-top cars are marked but have the lightbars mounted inside the rear deck and below the headliner instead of on the roof.
