Major Crime Sweep nets 28 Arrests

WHAT: 28 arrests, 6 guns, 10 Grams Cocaine and other drugs seized, in Joint Operation between the Titusville Police Department, Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, FDLE “Game Over” Task Force and Probation and Parole Dept.

WHEN: Thursday & Friday


WHY: Make major impact on criminal activity in North Brevard & Titusville.


TITUSVILLE, FL -After some significant planning, the Titusville Police Department teamed up with BCSO, FDLE Task Force, and the State Dept Probation & Parole to make a significant dent on criminal activity in the North Brevard area.


Over Thursday and today, 28 arrests have been made for crimes ranging in Sale of Cocaine, Possession of concealed weapons, and active warrants.


The operation included a “Buy-Bust” operation in which undercover operatives purchased drugs from known criminals and were immediately apprehended. A search of one house at 1602 Whispering Hills Titusville, home of a criminal on probation for selling Cocaine, netted two guns alone: a .45 caliber and .25 caliber pistols. Dwayne Antwan Mitchell, 24, was charged with numerous counts of Violation of Probation and was booked into jail with no bond.


“We are committed to continuing this aggressive approach to ensure we get these violent criminals off our streets” -said Chief Tony Bollinger. “A teamwork approach with both our citizens and other law enforcement agencies is proving to be very effective”-added Chief Bollinger.
