New Drinking Water Quality Report Released

TITUSVILLE, FL - (June 30, 2008) – Do you know where your drinking water comes from? How about how it is treated? Titusville water customers will be able to answer these questions and more when they receive their 2007 Annual Drinking Water Quality Report, The Water We Drink. The report, which will be mailed to each billing customer in July, is produced annually by the City of Titusville’s Water Resources Department.

“Titusville’s annual drinking water report is designed to inform our water consumers about the quality of water and the services we deliver every day as Titusville’s water utility,” explained Raynetta Curry Grant, Titusville’s Water Resources Director. “Titusville residents and businesses can be proud that the water that we deliver surpasses all federal and state requirements for drinking water.

This year’s report has been formatted in newspaper style and includes a calendar insert, which highlights many of Titusville’s water conservation programs. “By reading the report, people not only learn the basics about their water system such as where their water comes from, but also about things like how to prevent backflow and cross-contamination at their homes,” explained Maureen Phillips, Water Resources’ Community Programs Coordinator. “We have even included a kid’s page that features Winston the Water Dog. Kids and adults can test their water knowledge with the activities included such as the “What Do You Know About Water?” questions and the “Find The Water Words” word scramble.”

“All community water systems are required by law to provide their customers with an annual water quality report,” added Grant. “We always try to provide the most informative report possible. In fact, Titusville received first place in the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) 2007 Consumer Confidence Report Excellence Award for last year’s report.” Titusville was recognized for producing an effective and informative report that reflected a commitment to informing consumers about their drinking water.
