Three new officers graduate academy
Friday, December 14, 2007

Three new Titusville police officers graduated the Police Academy on December 13th. Chief Tony Bollinger is especially proud of the fact that all three of our recruits were chosen as squad leaders during the academy, a distinction given to recruits who show strong leadership skills. “We hired the best of the best”, said Chief Bollinger.

The graduation ceremony took place at the BCC Law Enforcement Academy located at the Titusville Campus. TPD staff and officers attended the ceremony to show support and welcome our new family members.

Our department is currently enjoying one of the most successful times in over 10 years for recruiting high-quality candidates to serve our community.  We believe one reason why Titusville has so many high-quality candidates is our reputation as a diverse, family-oriented organization which focuses highly on personal development and opportunity. “We have not lost an officer to another "larger" police department in over 5 years, which is unsurpassed and relatively un- heard of in this day and age with surrounding state law enforcement agencies”-Chief Tony Bollinger.

We are also proud of the fact that we have been able to match the diversity of our officers, with the diversity of our community. In other words, we match or exceed the percentage of minority residents, with minority officers. We believe our percentages for representation are the best in the county.

Our new officers:  Jorge F. Martinez, of Merritt Island; Mark A. Jennings, of Titusville who graduated from Titusville High school; and Neal C. Arnold, from Titusville, who graduated from Astronaut High School.
