Two dedication ceremonies to honor fallen officers
Monday, May 14, 2007

Students from Jackson Middle School, and officers who worked with two fallen Titusville officers, will be available tomorrow for interviews during the dedication ceremony for two local streets named for police officers killed in the line of duty in 1989 and 1982.

The local middle school students organized a fundraising effort on their own when they realized that as time has passed, young people, and people new to the community, were not aware of who two of our streets were named after and why.

The culmination of their fundraising efforts will result in an engraved plaque, set in a concrete base, being erected at each sight. The students want future generations to remember these officers. The dedications are being done on National Police Memorial Day.

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007 EVENTS:

·          9:00 A.M. on Jack H. Schnell St. (South side of Astronaut High, off Clarewood Blvd.) Officer Jack H. Schnell Dedication

·          11:30 A.M. Stephen F. House Way (Downtown Titusville, off S. Washington Ave.) Officer Stephen F. House Ceremony

In between the two dedications, Titusville Police & the students will join officers from across the state who will be attending the Police Memorial service at the Police Hall of Fame, 6350 Horizon Dr. (SR405, just east of US#1).
