Fifty local children attended the Annual Shop with a Cop event on Saturday December 9th 2017.
In a partnership between Titusville Police and the Titusville Police Youth Foundation, kids were given $100 to shop at Wal-Mart in Titusville. Officers and volunteers donated their time for the event and led children on a Holiday Shopping Spree.
Children, who were selected by local school administrators, were paired up with an officer or volunteer at police headquarters at 7:30 a.m. Shoppers were treated to breakfast at McDonald’s restaurant on Cheney Highway and then driven to Wal-Mart in charter busses donated by Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
“A truly rewarding experience for both the children and our department members”, said Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson.
Funds for the Holiday Shopping Spree were provided by a grant from Wal-Mart and monies donated by members of the Titusville community.
