The Titusville Police Department hosted National Night Out on Tuesday, October 3rd 2017 at Target, 3055 Columbia Blvd. NNO is a crime prevention initiative designed to enhance partnerships between law enforcement, businesses and the community.
The outreach event is always free for citizens and serves as a great opportunity for them to meet police officers and network with other members of the community!
“Relationship building is the key to us making our community as safe as possible”, said Lt. Victor Rodriguez, who helped organize National Night Out.
Attendees enjoyed free hotdogs provided by Bimbo Bakeries, snow cones provided by TPD, and McDonald’s served complimentary food items. Kids enjoyed two bounce houses, a dunk tank, face painting, and fun giveaways! This year’s National Night Out, one of our highest attended, also had a K9 demonstration, Mobile Command tours, SWAT gear display, and an array of Titusville Police and Fire Department vehicles.
“It is so refreshing to see that many citizens coming out to support our National Night Out”, said Chief John Lau. “The smiles from all of the children were medicinal considering we are all still grieving for the victims and their families involved in the Las Vegas tragedy”, added the Chief.
