Thanksgiving Week: Thursday’s pickup for garbage, recycling and yard trash will be on Wednesday. There will be no other changes for the week.
CAUTION: The City of Titusville has received several complaints from citizens in reference to receiving fraudulent telephone calls from subjects claiming to be with the utility department. If you receive a telephone call of this nature and are unsure about the origin of the call, please immediately hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency for further assistance.
It’s official…Scooby and Chase were the names selected from almost three thousand submissions by community members for the Titusville Police Department’s newest additions to their K9 Unit.
The names for the fourteen month old Belgian Malinois were revealed on July 14th 2017 at the Friday Nite Live Street Party Event in historic downtown Titusville.
“Our K9 team was overwhelmed with the amazing response from the citizens of Titusville”, said Lieutenant Chris Deloach. “Scooby and Chase will soon be serving and protecting the community that helped name them”, added Deloach.
Both K9 dogs are currently in a six hundred and forty hour training regimen with their handlers.
When their training concludes in August 2017, the K9 teams will be certified for narcotics detection, criminal apprehension, handler protection, area and building searches, and tracking.
