CAUTION: The City of Titusville has received several complaints from citizens in reference to receiving fraudulent telephone calls from subjects claiming to be with the utility department. If you receive a telephone call of this nature and are unsure about the origin of the call, please immediately hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency for further assistance.

Police Respond to Barricaded Man

Titusville Police responded to a report of an adult male barricaded in his home located at the 1600 block of Milton Street at approximately 8:30 AM on Sunday July 9th 2017.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that a 62 year old Titusville man had barricaded himself in his home and made threats of harming himself and others.   
In response to crucial investigative information acquired by police, the Titusville Police S.W.A.T. Team and Crisis Negotiation Team were deployed to the residence.
Community members within a two mile radius of the man’s home were issued an emergency notification with information pertaining to the ongoing situation.
Negotiations by police resulted in a peaceful conclusion to the incident.
At approximately 1:30 PM, the man was taken into custody, Baker Acted and transported to a local medical facility.
