If you receive a telephone call of this nature and are unsure about the origin of the call, please immediately hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency for further assistance.

Citizen Helps Police Stop Vehicle Burglary Suspect

An observant citizen’s quick call to 911 helped Titusville Police stop a vehicle burglary in progress and arrest a suspect.
 
The preliminary investigation has revealed that a resident was sitting on her porch on Raney Road Tuesday May 30th 2017 at approximately 2:50 AM and witnessed three suspects trying to burglarize her vehicle.
 
She immediately called 911 and reported the criminal activity. Police responded to the call, however the suspects fled the scene.
 
Officers engaged in a brief foot pursuit, which ended in a wooded area of Sawgrass Drive and Muirfield Drive. One juvenile suspect was arrested and two suspects are still at large.
 
Josiah Jacob Begley, 17, of Titusville was arrested and charged with three counts of Burglary to an Unoccupied Conveyance and one count of Resisting without Violence.
 
Titusville Police are proactively combating juvenile crime during the summer months with focused enforcement details by officers. Police urge community members to always lock their homes, businesses and cars.
