CAUTION: The City of Titusville has received several complaints from citizens in reference to receiving fraudulent telephone calls from subjects claiming to be with the utility department. If you receive a telephone call of this nature and are unsure about the origin of the call, please immediately hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency for further assistance.

K9 Catches Robbery Suspect

Immediate response to a report of a strong armed robbery led the Titusville Police K9 Unit to quickly track and arrest the suspect.
 
At approximately 5:00 PM on January 15th 2017, Police responded to a report of a strong armed robbery at the Family Dollar Store located at 708 Cheney Highway.
 
The preliminary investigation revealed that a male suspect stole merchandise and cash from the store and fled the scene.
 
Within minutes, K9 Officer Cantalupo and K9 dog, “Jack” tracked the suspect to the back door of a residence located 805 Cleveland Street.
 
Javonte Darnay Harris, 20, of Titusville, was located and arrested without incident. Harris was charged with Robbery and Grand Theft.
 
Harris is s being held at the Brevard County Jail with a $5500 bond.
