The City of Titusville, Florida / Police / NewsArrest Made in Hit and Run CrashTitusville Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a hit and run traffic crash that occurred on Tuesday January 10th 2017.
The preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 10:30 AM at the intersection of Cheney Highway and Sisson Road a suspect driving westbound in a Ford Explorer hit the rear end of a Honda Civic that was stopped at the traffic light.
The suspect left the crash scene without stopping and continued westbound on Cheney Highway for approximately one mile and crashed into a Honda CRZ, which subsequently forced that vehicle to crash into a Toyota Prius at the intersection of Cheney Highway and Barna Avenue.
Matthew Wayne Bartlett, 57, of Titusville, was immediately arrested and charged with Driving While Under the Influence (DUI), Leaving the Scene of a Traffic Crash with Bodily Injury and Reckless Driving.
All four drivers involved in the traffic crashes were the sole occupants of their vehicles.
The driver of the Honda Civic was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Honda CRZ was treated at a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Bartlett is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail with $17,500 bond.
