|Description: ||ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:|
This is a highly skilled technical position requiring knowledge of drafting, computers, and office procedures. Work includes preparing plans and detailed drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes. Incumbent is responsible for preparing plans for utility or Public Works construction projects and for preparing various maps either manually or on a computer. Incumbent must have the ability to organize and complete assignments in a logical, efficient manner. Incumbent generally acts on his own in performing engineering tasks and maintaining records. Work is performed under general supervision, subject to check upon completion by technicians, supervisors and engineers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent is required plus one year's experience in Utilities or Public Works construction or with computer drafting system (AutoCAD experience preferred) or one year related municipal or computer experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered
Possession of a valid Florida drivers' license. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry lightweight equipment up to 25 pounds. Ability to work outside in roadways and unimproved locations. Must be able to withstand adverse conditions during construction activities. Performance of the typical duties requires a high degree of manual dexterity and visual acuity. Must be able to use computer keyboard and accessories (CADD).
Subject to emergency call-out during off-duty hours and on weekends as required.
During occasions of local emergencies this position may be required to report to perform emergency tasks, which may result in extended work hours as well as extended periods of time away from family members. The Incident Commander and the employee’s department Head will make the determination as to who will be required to work.
