|Description: ||ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:|
This is a highly responsible technical and paraprofessional position. Performs paraprofessional and administrative office support for the processing and illustration of all land development (building/site), business tax receipt and variance processes. The position disseminates information to others concerning the land development (building/site), business tax receipt and variance requirements. The incumbent performs a variety of tasks such as compiling, tabulating, and evaluating data; preparing reports, charts and graphs, handouts, surveys, and general literature; collection of fees, fines and charges, maintains all material that is used by the general public; conducts research as requested, and completes special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Background in development related field, good organizational skills, computer skills, development knowledge and a high school diploma (or equivalent) required. An Associate degree or an equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be substituted for an Associate's Degree. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of administrative requirements concerning zoning. Land Development Regulations, Code of Ordinances, Florida Building Code, State Statute concerning Business Tax Receipts and the methods and procedures by which they are administered and enforced. Ability to operate computer terminal and related equipment. Ability to conduct/complete surveys and compile data relative to planning and development. Ability to prepare detailed charts, illustrations and other graphic materials in conformance with standards of the profession. Ability to present data in graphic, pictorial and tabular form. Ability to follow directions and accurately complete assignments as assigned. Ability to always maintain professional attitude and be friendly and polite even when confronted with adverse attitudes from the general public. Ability to work effectively in a cohesive group setting.
Incumbent may be required to attend evening meetings depending on departmental assignment or operational requirements. Subject to emergency call-out during off-duty hours and on weekends as required.
