This is clerical work involved with receiving cash and performing related duties. Incumbent is responsible for receiving cash, checks, credit cards and other forms of payment for payment of utility bills or other fees; counting money and making change; issuing receipts and maintaining routine records. Work is performed under supervision of the Customer Service Manager. Cash handling is verified & balanced daily by reconciliation of monies/receipts and periodic audits.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School graduate or equivalent diploma is required supplemented by advanced courses in accounting/bookkeeping. Three years of progressively responsible account-keeping and/or utility billing experience is required. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Must possess a valid State of Florida driver’s license. Subject to emergency call-out during off-duty hours and on weekends as required. Participates in disaster preparedness and emergency activities as directed. Ability to communicate verbally on the telephone and in person. Ability to operate computer, accept payments and operate calculator. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
