This is a professional manager with extensive experience in management; development, implementation and operation of computer based information systems. Develops wide area/large area network designs to create an IT system that maximizes the productivity of the City’s workforce. All work is performed under the general direction of the Assistant City Manager with minimum direct supervision. Requires the ability to understand user requirements and the relevance to operational needs. Must possess supervisory skills to supervise and train the division staff both technically and professionally. The manager will exercise independent judgment in the execution of her/his duties, within the perimeters of City policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor degree preferably in Information Systems or Business Administration is required with at least 3 years of experience as a manager of an Information Systems division. Prefer a Masters with some knowledge of municipalities or Public Sector Operations. Experience in management, development, implementation and operation of a computer based information system. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Valid Florida Driver’s license required. Must be able to attend meetings outside business hours.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time in front of a computer. Ability to work long hours to meet important milestones. Ability to visit remote locations. Visual and hearing ability. Ability to bend stoop and lift 50 pounds. Use of fingers, both hands required. During occasions of local emergencies this position may be required to report to perform emergency tasks, which may result in extended work hours as well as extended periods of time away from family members. The Incident Commander and the Assistant City Manager will make the determination as to who will be required to work.
