This is a technical and administrative position primarily responsible for the management and coordination of various Water Resources Engineering capital improvement projects within the Water Resources Department. Work is performed under the general direction of the Engineering Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
An undergraduate degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering is required with a minimum of two years experience in construction or project management and an understanding of utility system design concepts. An E.I.T. certification is required. Preference will be given to candidates who possess experience in public utilities. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Possession of a valid Florida Operator's driver's license. Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including a computer, telephone, etc. Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate, physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds). During occasions of local emergencies this position may be required to report to perform emergency tasks, which may result in extended work hours as well as extended periods of time away from family members. The Incident Commander and the employee’s department Head will make the determination as to who will be required to work.
