|Description: ||ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:|
This is skilled work in the operation of heavy equipment. Incumbent must work efficiently so as not to impede the process of related operations. Operates heavy equipment including crane, street sweeper, slope mower, motor grader, and backhoe. Performs maintenance, construction, and other manual labor tasks as directed. Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules/regulations. Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions.
MINIMIM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Two years' experience operating and maintaining the equipment utilized in primary assignment. Must possess a valid Commercial Class "B" driver's license with endorsement Tanker and Airbrakes. Driving record will be checked. Subject to emergency call out during off-duty hours and on weekends as required.
Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform heavy manual labor. Labor includes lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, pulling, and climbing. Ability to work in inclement weather. Must have adequate sight and hearing to receive orders and directions in the presence of moderate background noise. Ability to sit for extended periods of time when operating equipment. May be required to work shifts and odd work weeks.
