|Description: ||ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:|
This is responsible supervisory work directing a group of unskilled and semi-skilled workers engaged in general maintenance, solid waste collection, construction and repair functions; depending on assigned area. Incumbent must have significant job knowledge of the varied activities related to the performance and responsibilities of assigned division, i.e., streets maintenance and construction, parks maintenance, solid waste, and the water distribution system. Exercises independent judgement in relation to work assignments. Assignments are received both verbally and in writing. Work is subject to frequent review and inspection by Superintendent and/or Coordinator in assigned division.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent diploma is required. Three years of responsible work in skilled maintenance and repair work including some supervisory experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in assigned area of expertise. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Physical strength and agility to work long hours outdoors, occasionally in adverse weather conditions. Daily tasks involve bending, stooping, crawling, and lifting materials/equipment up to 50 pounds.
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license (non-commercial class "D" or Commercial driver's license class "B") depending on assignment or have ability to obtain as required by hiring supervisor.
